There are many qualified orthodontists in the Upstate area. Our patients choose us for their treatment for several reasons. First of all, we pride ourselves on offering truly personal care. We know our patients by name, and our friendly staff goes out of their way to put each one at ease. We make every effort to make treatments as comfortable, unobtrusive, and brief as possible. We also take the time to explain what we’re doing, and why we ask you to change, or refrain, from certain behaviors. And we do those “little” things—like having the latest issue of cool magazines in our waiting room.
Secondly, we work only in the field of orthodontics. While Dr. Disher is fully licensed and trained in all areas of dental medicine, he refers general dental and other dental specialty procedures to a network of trusted colleagues. Doing so allows him to enjoy an excellent working relationship with other dental professionals in the Upstate, and to focus exclusively on offering his patients the very latest developments in orthodontic treatment and technology.
Finally, while we are already in full compliance with regulations mandated by OSHA, the Center for Disease Control, and the American Association of Orthodontists, we have established some additional, personal, standards for our practice. For example, we do not recycle brackets. Many orthodontists do; it’s a common practice. But in the interest of maximum protection for our patients, we prefer to use only new hardware. We also routinely apply a protective fluoride varnish to our patients’ teeth to minimize any risk of discoloration or decay.
